( 380 - c. 320 BC) was a Greek philosopher of the varsity of Democritus. along side Pyrrho, he accompanied Alexander the good into Asia. The reports of his philosophical views suggest that he was a forerunner of the Greek skeptics.

PHILOSOPHY 

Very little is understood about his philosophical views. it's thought that he represents a link between the atomism of Democritus, and therefore the skepticism of Pyrrho.

Anaxarchus is claimed to possess studied under Diogenes of Smyrna, who successively studied under Metrodorus of Chios who wont to declare that he knew nothing not even the very fact that he knew nothing. consistent with Sextus Empiricus Anaxarchus compared existing things to a scene-painting and supposed them to resemble the impressions experienced in sleep or madness. it had been under the influence of Anaxarchus that Pyrrho is claimed to possess adopted .A most noble philosophy, taking the shape of agnosticism and suspension of judgement. Anaxarchus is claimed to possess praised Pyrrho's . Indifference and sang-froid. Anaxarchus is claimed to possess possessed.Fortitude and contentment in life which earned him the epithet eudaimonikos ("fortunate"), which can imply that he held the top of life .

DEATH


ANAXARCHUS was thrown by shipwreck into the facility of Nicocreon, king of Cyprus, to whom he had given offence, and who had him pounded to death during a stone mortar.
